There is a long and strong tradition in cinema, from Murnau to Lynch, as an art of the every-day-life mystery, the most likely to capture the famous "disquieting strangeness" present in a certain literature which knows how to stir up secrets, fear, fascination amidst the most trivial scenery. By turning a highway stop into the theatre of an elliptic confrontation between man and the machine, the Canadian Francois Jaros perfectly integrates this line of descent, projecting a possible and (of course) terrifying future for it.
